Very simply, it is time for the American people to soberly consider the profound gift of being called an American and the grave responsibility that it entails, and to base their votes on facts and reason rather than on charisma and emotion.

Tomorrow, the voters of this nation will choose a direction for America that will have an almost unimaginable impact on our children, grandchildren and generations to come.

Nearly every election, and especially this one, is cast in glowing terms of "change."

Approximately 2 years ago, when Republicans were in control of Congress and George Bush was in the White House, regular gasoline was $2.19 a gallon, unemployment was 4.5%, the deficit was falling sharply, the Dow Jones was at a record high of 14,000 +, and consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high. 

But Americans wanted change, and that is exactly what Nancy Pelosi promised if Democrats gained control of Congress. So in 2006 we elected a Democrat Majority in Congress.

The "change" was astounding.

Over the course of the next two years, we saw the price of gasoline climb to more than $4 a gallon; unemployment rise to 5.5%, consumer confidence plummet, the deficit grow to a figure that could reach $1 trillion, home equity drop by 10 to 20 trillion dollars, home foreclosures become rampant, trillions of dollars lost in stocks and retirement plans, and the Dow Jones drop to nearly 8000.

In short, we have had a major economic meltdown, and the Democrat-controlled Congress has repeatedly allowed only two responses: do nothing, or pile the burden on the backs of taxpayers. This is truly "change."

Now comes Barack Obama promising "change" once again. 

It is important to remember that sky diving naked into a live volcano is "change." Therefore it is absolutely vital that voters ask themselves exactly what Barack Obama means when he says "change."

Here are the facts.

In light of the heightened tension over the state of our economy, Mr. Obama's record on economic issues demands acute examination. The record shows Barack Obama gained the title "Community Organizer" from his extensive involvement in ACORN (Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now). ACORN is infamous for two things: its flagrant voter registration fraud on behalf of Democrats in a dozen states, and its central role in forcing major banking institutions at legal gunpoint to make tens of thousands of subprime loans to people who could not afford them. The latter situation ultimately led to the banking crisis and a $700 billion government bailout that time may well prove to be ineffective.

But financial crisis notwithstanding, if Mr. Obama becomes President in a post-9/11 world, economic challenges may become the least of America's problems.

Barack Obama began his political career in the home of a terrorist named William Ayers, and Mr. Obama has now been supported for President by terrorist groups including Hamas and Hezbollah, and dangerous terrorist-sponsoring nations such as Iran and North Korea. Security concerns over his past terrorist and criminal associations would prevent him from being eligible to serve on the President's security detail, but for some reason his supporters deem these trivial and insignificant in his run for the Presidency. Islamic extremists celebrated in the streets when Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats took over Congress, and they will be absolutely jubilant if Barack Obama becomes President.

Mr. Obama has said he would sit down without preconditions and negotiate with heads of terrorist states like Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. If Barack Obama becomes president, it becomes far more likely that Iran will gain nuclear weapons, possibly even nuclear powered Electromagnetic Pulse Weapons, which are the most dangerous asymmetric weapons on earth. If Ahmadinejad gains such horrifying weapons, he will give them to terrorists, just as he now gives the deadly Iranian made Explosive Formed Penetrators to terrorists that kill more of our troops in Iraq than any other type of weapon.

A robust, layered Missile Defense capability is one of the few hopes America might have to protect herself, her citizens and her allies against ballistic nuclear missiles from Iran or anywhere else. Yet, Barack Obama has said he would reduce the Missile Defense budget by $10 billion. Perhaps he does not understand that the entire Missile Defense budget is only $9.6 billion.

But there is even a greater threat to freedom than Barack Obama's seeming contempt for our military and his obliviousness to the external threats facing America.

Barack Obama has said he would change the makeup of the U.S. Supreme Court by appointing liberal Supreme Court Justices who do not believe in its time honored principles as written. He would thus fundamentally change the United States Constitution and America's destiny. It is always the water on the inside of the ship that sinks it. 

We should all remember that our Constitution is primarily about three foundational rights given to us by God that are the pillars of our republic and the hope of human government on earth. These are the rights to Life, Liberty, and Property. 

Barack Obama has said his first act as president would be to sign a bill that would undo all restrictions on abortion and guarantee it throughout the nine months of pregnancy for any reason or no reason, at taxpayers' expense-- even on minors without their parent's knowledge or consent. He attacked the Supreme Court's April 2007 decision upholding the Congressional ban on partial birth abortion. Barack Obama is on record voting 3 times against a bill to protect the life of a child who survives an abortion and is actually born alive. 

An Obama Supreme Court would also erase the words "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance, remove the right of parents to direct the upbringing and education of their children, order all 50 states to mandate gay marriage, expand racial preferences, ban the death penalty (even for those who rape and murder children), and prohibit the surveillance of terrorists while giving the same terrorists the constitutional right to sue our military.

An Obama Court would open the door to catastrophic government control of the economy and health care, allow massive lawsuits of almost any kind against business owners, drastically diminish property rights, and constitutionally guarantee the right to human cloning and doctor assisted suicide.

Barack Obama is the most pro-abortion individual to ever serve in either house of the United States Congress and the most pro-abortion candidate to ever run for President. His policies toward terrorists and terrorist states would allow them to crush liberty in the world. And if he implements his lifelong held socialist economic policies from the White House, property rights will no longer exist in America.

So much for the Constitutional rights of Life, Liberty and Property.

Daniel Webster said: "Hold on my friends to the Constitution and the Republic for which it stands. For miracles do not cluster and what has happened once in 6000 years may not happen again. So hold on to the Constitution. For if the American Constitution should fall, there will be anarchy throughout the world."

A Barack Obama Presidency would be a staggering blow to the United States Constitution and to the greatest Constitutional Republic in the history of man. 

These are the stakes, the election is upon us, and the results are now in the hands of the people.

To quote Daniel Webster again, "There is nothing so powerful as the truth." I can only hope that American voters who read this will realize that principles and the truth still matter, and will vote accordingly. If they do, John McCain will be elected President of the United States. 

If they don't, the people will now be responsible for the consequences, and I will be left with the small consolation of knowing that I told them the truth... along with a far greater bereavement over my lack of ability to help them understand just how serious the consequences really were.
